The Student Advisory Council is Fordham GBA’s principle student organization. All issues and concerns regarding student opinions on curriculum, student life, career management, and faculty are channeled through SAC. Additionally, SAC’s responsibilities are to promote and regulate the clubs, and to act as liaisons between the student body and administration. The team is composed of a President, two Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, and a PR chair. SAC works closely with the heads of each club to organize events, and find common ground with funding. Additionally, SAC puts on a few headliner events during the year, which are not to be missed.

The Mission of SAC changes from year to year. This year the team focused on three principles:
S – Student Activity,
A – Alumni Development, and
C – Community Outreach.
S – Student Activity. This is an effort to get student more connected to one another and GBA. SAC is using social media tools such as twitter and Facebook to provide multiple channels to communicate to students. Additionally, SAC has created a “Whiteboard” campaign, which is a calendar of events that is located on the 6th floor. Students can find all career, club, and other GBA events on the Whiteboard.
A – Alumni development. This is a centerpiece of SAC’s mission. SAC will encourage clubs and career management to incorporate Alumni into majority of events over the year. In order to bring more opportunities to GBA, SAC believes Alumni are the key.
C – Community Outreach. Service is a key part of the Jesuit education and SAC is committed to incorporating this idea into club events. SAC is requiring clubs to host one or two community service projects per semester to start this movement.
In 2011 and 2012 SAC’s mission is to create a more connected GBA community that believes in giving back and reaching out.
